BioOk what can I say about me.
My fave type of music is Rock and Heavy Metal and I like most bands from the 70's and 80's, some from the 90's and a few modern bands too.
I Love reading especially Terry Prachett's Discworld books and anything else he writes, I also like science fiction and other fantasy type books and anything that can take me out of the normal boring world.
I went to the Discworld con last year (2006) and can't wait for Aug08 for the next one, anyone who loves the Disc and has never been, I really would advise you give it a go (If you can afford it - it can get a wee bit pricey) I met some great people there and have stayed friends with a few. We had a mass laugh, and needed a holiday to get over it or at least a week in bed. So if you have ever thought about it, then stop thinking about it and book in for the next one. Anyway enough plugging the DW, more about me.
I am Pagan (Wiccan) and have been for a while. I decided to stray from the norm of Christianity (much to the anoyance of my parents for a bit), a long time ago and found myself in a life of magic, and a lot of things started to make real sense to me, so here I am, a fully fledged 'witch' to use a modern word, I don't mind what people think about it any more - I have the support of the people that matter, to me it's just a life choice and there are worse things you can get into out there in the big wide world!
My other passion is football, I love going to matches and watch on TV when I can't get to a live match, although the atmosphere is not the same as when you are in the crowd, cheering on your team!
When I am not at the football, listening to music, reading or working, one of my biggest interests is History - I love visiting countries like Egypt, Turky etc etc the list goes on, where I can pretend I am a bit of a Lara Croft Tomb Raider or a female Indiana Jones (Without the fighting and life threatening moements) I like watching time team and would love to join them on a dig some time - my one real regret that I didn't pursue it when I had the chance and go into archiology, but hey, I didn't so theres no point in moaning about it!
Honestly the main reason I joined this live journal, was because of the DWCon and to hopefuly get chatting to a few DW fans before they organise the convention chat rooms, But while I am on here, it would be nice to chat with some new people from around the world, even those not into the Disc and maybe make some new friends while I'm here, so hey to anyone reading this! (If I do I will stay on even after the con and beyond)
